Aaron Sacrifices Hair

The treasury echoes its reports far and wide. "All is lost, all is lost!" Enter our great savior Aaron Taggert: "We will fight this dreaded thing! We will cut our hair! Brush our teeth! AND GET JOBS!!!!" This divine inspiration is said to have come from his teacher, Alexander, who channeled “Cut your hair, shave your face, and wear a suit.”

Stewardship

This is the First New Moon after Imbolgc.  It is our tradition at Pagan House to use this particular New Moon to talk about Stewards and Labradors, so if this is your first time attending a New Moon with us, please don't think that this is all we talk about.  You just so happened to attend on the first New Moon after Imbolgc.

Saint Cunningham

Some will say that Scott Cunningham moved beyond this plane far too quickly, but maybe he did as much as he did because he had so little time to do it. Scott Cunningham invented (well maybe just encouraged) solitary practice and self-initiation. His three books Wicca, Living Wicca and The Complete Book of Incense, Oils & Brews were published in one volume that could easily be considered the Pagan's Bible. Scott Cunningham taught a simple, pure way that can easily be adapted for any overdone occasion.

Gerald Gardener

Gerald Gardner

Gerald Gardner is regarded by many as the founder of Wicca and Modern Paganism. Though his claims to authority and a direct lineage dating back to prehistory are self created myth, the myths and realities of Gardner truely make him a Saint. What he risked in revealing what he knew benefits us all. The way he taught was also noteworthy, because he sometimes interjected complete nonsense to see if his students were thinking for themselves or descending into the trap of becoming "sheeple" ...

Saints of Pagan House

The term Saint may not be as familiar among Pagans as it is other paths but we could find no equivalent word. A Saint is exceptionally virtuous. John A. Coleman S.J., Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, wrote that saints across various cultures and religions have the following family resemblances:

  1. Exemplary Model
  2. Extraordinary Teacher
  3. Wonder Worker
  4. Source of Benevolent Power
  5. Intercessor
  6. Selfless
  7. Ascetic Behavior
  8. Possessor of a Special and Revelatory Relation to the Holy

At Pagan House we "honor those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership." To this end the Saints of Pagan House are presented.

Site Redesign

We have been neglecting this site... But we have good reason! We are completely redesigning this site. Major updates are on their way. Many wise ones have been working endlessly so that by Yule you'll have a great new site. We appreciate your understanding as this phoenix turns to ash.

And please take our basic paganism survey while you wait
