Our First Social was a HIT!
Thanks to all of you who came to the first Pagan House Social! Your participation in your community is what made the event a success. Olive Garden of Escondido donated the main dish. North County PH mailed a thank you letter to them for their support. It was great to see members of our community come out and enjoy the fellowship. Aaron and Morgan (the hosts) provided a warm and welcoming space for people to enjoy. Some of the attendees had not been to a public event in quite some time, and it was heartening to see them present.
NOTE: The next Pagan House Social will be @ Dana's house as we will be celebrating her birthday!
Pagan House will be officiating the next Full Moon celebration @ the Village Witch. We hope to see you there!
YEAR-AND-A-DAY starts Feb 7th
The Pagan House Year-and-a-Day training program comes to North County in February. This class (called Owls for short), which runs for 52 consecutive Sundays, is designed with the modern Pagan in mind. Rather than taking the traditional three years to complete, PH has taken a page out of the Freemason handbook and condensed it down. Each Degree is completed in a four month block, allowing students to be eligible for Induction as a Third Degree in just 52 weeks. The course is chalenging, but very entertaining.
Morgan's experience as an Archaeologist and Anthropologist, as well as her decades of study in the Faith, creates a rich multicultural tapestry of practices and perspectives which allows students the ability to easily move between not only diferent groups within the Pagan Community, but also amongst the other Faiths practiced in our nation. Students will be introduced to the Pagan House Way. It is a system of organization for those who previously followed an ecclectic path. Morgan explains it this way: "Just like there is Fusion Cuisine, and World Beat Music, which combine ingredients and rythmns from the various continents and times into a new and exciting flavor, so too should our Faith be a representation of our experience. Americans are a blended people, our language is sprinkled with bits from the places we came from. In order for Faith to accurately represent this multicultural heritage, it too must be harvested from the best of what the planet has to offer."
Aaron's background in Shoshone medicine and and ceremonial magicks brings further perspective and diversity to the table. Aaron is an initiated Freemason and has even been taught to give 'last rites' by a Catholic Priest. Where Morgan is learned Aaron is intuitive. He'll teach you to trust your best Guru... U! As a Priest of Coyote he'll teach you to laugh and embrace the inner sacred clown.
This class will fill all the holes that many of us self-taught Pagans have gathered. It will guide the beginner from book to broom. The Pagan House Way emphasizes DOING! We will drag you out of your old self and bring you closer to your perfected self.
WITCHBANK is up and Running
WitchBank is the currency system envisioned by the community. It is in its infancy so there are many glitches along the path to embracing an alternative currency. The WitchBank is a way for us to transact our skills without damaging our Mother. It is the next step toward a sustainable society.

Are YOU going to HEARTLAND PAGAN FESTIVAL?
It might not be Scarborough Faire, but you are practically guaranteed to have a good time there. Heartland Pagan Festival takes place over the Memorial Day weekend at a Pagan Retreat center called Camp Gaea (http://www.campgaea.org/). It is near the Kansas City airport, to make getting there a snap. Here you will be introduced to how they do it in the Midwest. Some of the attractions are Leather Lane (for all you rough sex types), Pixie Sticks (for the drummers) and First Field (where Pagan House sets it up). There are vendors, lecturers, musicians and rituals galore. This is a Kid friendly, Clothing Optional event. If that sounds incompatable to you, then you really do need to go, 'cause they will show you a thing or two!

We are particularly interested in pieces under 300 words that describe your personal experiences in ritual or at North County PH events.
