Finding the Primary Number

The primary numbers from 1 to 9 are the basis of all numerological systems. Every number can be reduced to its primary by a simple process of left-to-right addition. Thus 25 becomes 2+5=7, and 7 is its primary number. Similarly, 198 becomes 1+9+8=18, which is further reduced to 1+8=9. The same simple process can be applied to dates, names (by a system of number-letter equivalents), events, and so on. All numerologists agree about the fundamental importance of the primary numbers, but some also offer meanings for secondary numbers (ie 10 and above). The secondary numbers, if used, are also arrived at by a process of addition.
